NAPA APPEALS FOR SOLIDARITY AND SUPPORT

FOR HELPING FLOOD VICTIMS IN NEPAL

The Nepalese Agricultural Professionals of Americas (NAPA) expresses its deep concern and profound sorrow over the devastating floods and associated disasters affecting communities across Nepal. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those who have lost their loved ones, homes, livelihoods, and sources of income, as well as with the families and communities enduring this difficult time. NAPA stands in solidarity with the people of Nepal and appreciates the efforts of the Government of Nepal, security agencies, local authorities, humanitarian organizations, and volunteers who are working tirelessly in rescue, relief, and recovery efforts. We recognize the immense challenges involved in responding to such a widespread disaster and commend the dedication of everyone working on the ground to protect and assist affected communities.

At this difficult time, it is our collective responsibility to stand with all those affected and those involved in the rescue and recovery efforts. NAPA has already appealed to all members, well-wishers, and all others willing to support through NAPA for monetary donations, which will be sent to the Government of Nepal Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund.

Besides contributing to the relief fund for immediate support, NAPA is planning to prepare strategies for reviving the lost land and agriculture in the affected areas as well as safeguarding similar other areas vulnerable to potential flooding in the future. For this endeavor, we request inputs from NAPA community, agricultural professionals, scientists, policy makers, and all other experts and agricultural practitioners at napa@napaamericas.org.

Our collective compassion, solidarity, and contribution can provide hope and comfort to those affected by this devastating disaster. We pray for the safety and well-being of everyone affected and for the strength and resilience of Nepal as the country responds to and recovers from this tragedy.
